Graduated
26 Oct 1878 Queen's Medical College, Tuam, Galway (parents wanted him
to be a priest). Immigrated to New York in 1878. MD at American Medical
College of St. Louis, Missouri (1882). Doctor in Wood River, Nebraska,
then hired as Union Pacific RR doctor at Green River, Wyoming in
1885. License to practice obstetrics in Wyoming (1899). Dr. John
was a successful obstetrician, rancher,
and mayor of Green River (1902). He practiced medicine until he
was 85. He married Martha Baker in 1891 and had four children: William,
John, and Lawrence died as children. George married Ada Kronner and
had a daughter, Catherine Patricia (Patsy).
