[Outlook Express - modify your setup] [Mozilla Thunderbird] [Netscape Communicator] [Other Email Software] Microsoft Outlook ExpressModifying your SettingsFollow these instructions to modify your Outlook Express settings for your SVPAL email. Open Outlook Express. On the menu bar click on Tools, then select Accounts. On the window, select the Mail tab. Click on the entry for SVPAL, then click Properties. Click on the Servers tab. Enter the following information:
Change other settings if needed. For example if you change your SVPAL password, you will need to change your password saved in Outlook. Click the OK button to save your changes. Verify your new settings by retrieving your email. Click the Send/Receive button in the toolbar. Using Netscape MessengerFollow these instructions to setup or modify your Netscape Messenger settings for SVPAL email. Open Netscape Messenger. On the menu bar click Edit, then Preferences. Select Mail & News, then Identity and enter the following information (in this example the user is "Jon Doer" using the account jondoer).
The other fields are optional. Click on Mail Servers on the left, then in the Outgoing mail server section enter the following: Outgoing mail mail (SMTP) server: smtp.svpal.org Then click either Add (to add an entry for SVPAL) or select your existing SVPAL entry and click Edit (to modify your existing settings). Note that you cannot modify the Mail server settings with Edit. In this case, you must delete your current SVPAL entry and create a new one. Under the Server tab, enter the following:
Click the OK button to save your changes. Verify your new settings by retrieving your email. Click the Get Msg button in the toolbar. Other Email SoftwareFor other email software use the following information to set up your email (in this example the user is "Jon Doer" using the account jondoer, replace these with your account and name information).
The defaults are usually correct for the other settings. |
