Blocked Network Ports

SVPAL blocks access to certain network ports to improve security for our subscribers.  The two reasons we block ports are to prevent viruses from spreading and to stop SPAM.  The list of ports may change over time and this page is not necessarily current.

Access to port 25 (SMTP) is restricted to SVPAL's mail servers.  You must send all your email through our servers.  The blocking of these ports should not affect Internet access, since use of these services across the Internet is considered dangerous.
